Bringing the Joy of Reading This Festive Season
With the festive season fast approaching, the World Literacy Foundation is gearing up to deliver its cherished Christmas book packs to children from highly disadvantaged and low-income backgrounds across Arkansas. Shockingly, an estimated 61% of these children do not own a single book.

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly fried fish and shrimp dinner this coming Friday, December 5, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Lucille Kappler of Lampe, Missouri
Lucille (Lu) M. Kappeler (Masson), 107, of Lampe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, from natural causes at the Countryside at Rock Springs in Harrison. She was born on March 5, 1918, in Chicago, to Maxime Masson (d.1953) and Leontine (Hudon) Masson (d.1972). Lu was the youngest of 14 siblings (11 of whom were males). Marie (d.1954) was the oldest female with Lu being the youngest.

Suzanne Ballard Stewart, 86, of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025.

Marie Isom, 89, of Yellville, passed away at The Springs of Creekside Health and Rehabilitation in Yellville on November 23, 2025, with her son David by her side. She was born on July 5, 1936, in Somerville, Texas.

Louis Wayne Sorbo, 72, passed away peacefully at his home near Yellville, on November 22, 2025, following a lengthy illness.

Carolyn Sue Cates, lovingly known as Sue Dooly, Carolina, or Hollywood, went home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2025, at the age of 73.
