Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter Greetings everyone! Looks like we are in for some warmer weather and the furbabies and volunteers at Have-A-Heart are very grateful. This week we have a couple of real cuties to share with you.
Local students named to Fall 2023 Dean’s and Chancellor’s Lists in U of A’s Fulbright College
FAYETTEVILLE - Local students were named to the Fall 2023 Dean›s and Chancellor›s Lists in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas. To qualify for the Dean’s List, the following local students achieved at least a 3.75 grade-point average for the semester while completing at least 12 credit hours.

Why is it that we think about the forb component of a seed mix being diverse, but we often include only 1 or 2 species of grasses? A diversity of grasses would be better for wildlife, soil health, and even forage production. A very important principle of soil health is diversity.
MCRC to meet
The Marion County Republican Committee will meet Thursday February 8, 2024, at 7:00 pm. New Location will be in the Marion County Annex courtroom located at 105 S.

The American Legion Post #61 of Yellville held its monthly meeting January 11, 2024. The meeting was called to order at 1805 hours by Dustin Beals, Commander.
Extension Brings New book for Beginning Beekeepers
The Cooperative Extension Service is introducing a new resource that targets beginning beekeepers, said Jon Zawislak, extension assistant professor in apiculture and urban entomology. “‘Beekeeping in Arkansas’ is an all-purpose introduction to smallscale beekeeping,” Zawislak said.
