Municipal Candidates file for General Election

The registration for candidates to run for municipal offices beginning Wednesday, July 29, at Noon. The registration will be closed on Wednesday, August 5, at Noon. The following citizens who have registered are as follows, listed by city: Bull Shoals – * Michael Howell, Mayor; *Russell Meinking, Ward 2 Position 1; Shellie Salza, Ward 1 Position 1; *George Grede, Ward 1 Position 2; Edwin Martin Sr., Ward 2 Position 2; *Travis Fancher, Ward 1 Position 1; Cody Jackson, Ward 3 Position 1; and *Kevin Hutchison Ward 3 Position 2.

Safe Voting

I have been a poll worker in Marion County since 2020. I worked with a mask and face shield that year and we had a safe and fair election. I love being a poll worker. The state and county make sure I am trained with the most recent regulations and laws each year I serve.

Bull Shoals gets a New Mayor

On Thursday, July 30, the City of Bull Shoals held a regular City council meeting. Travis Fancher, acting mayor, Kevin Hutchison, Joey Grede, Russ Meinking Allen Webb and Mike Howell were present to represent the city council. Jessica Wilkinson, recorder, and Amber Knowles, treasurer, were in attendance. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and immediately into filling the vacated mayor’s seat by appointing Travis Fancher to fulfill the remainder of the Bill Stahlman’s term. Stahlman vacated the office when he resigned on July 7. The vote to appoint Fancher as mayor until December 31 was unanimous.
