Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that on August 1, 2026, at approximately 8:28 a.m., the Marion County Emergency 911 (E911) Center received a call of a structure fire on Marion County (MC) road 6068, in the Rea Valley area.

On Thursday, July 30, the City of Bull Shoals held a regular City council meeting. Travis Fancher, acting mayor, Kevin Hutchison, Joey Grede, Russ Meinking Allen Webb and Mike Howell were present to represent the city council. Jessica Wilkinson, recorder, and Amber Knowles, treasurer, were in attendance. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and immediately into filling the vacated mayor’s seat by appointing Travis Fancher to fulfill the remainder of the Bill Stahlman’s term. Stahlman vacated the office when he resigned on July 7. The vote to appoint Fancher as mayor until December 31 was unanimous.
