Marion County Nursing Home Auxiliary 2023 Scholarship Recipients

The Marion County Nursing Home Auxiliary has been helping our community since 1958 when it was established as the Marion County Hospital Auxiliary. Although our main function is to support the residents of our Marion County nursing homes, we support many of our local charities, community clubs and organizations as well as our three county schools.

Gibson Signs Letter of Intent with MSU

by Robert Lyons and April Martin Kambree Gibson signs a National Letter of Intent to further her education at the Springfield Campus of Missouri State University (MSU). Gibson received two scholarships from MSU one for an “out of state tuition waiver” and the “Academic Excellence Scholarship.” Gibson is excited about the potential opportunity to compete in any but plans to compete in mutli-events and field events.

When I think of all the fascinating things, I have seen in this natural world I have been exploring for well over 40 years, one of the most fascinating is a little snake that my grandmother told me was a puff adder. It is also known as a hog-nosed viper, a spreading adder, and other names.

Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter Another busy week at Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter (HAH)! Be sure to follow us on Facebook to celebrate adoptions, thrift store sales, fundraisers, low cost spay and neuter clinics, and more! Before we get to our Pets of the Week, it seems to be a good time to remind everyone about how important it is to treat animals for fleas and ticks (especially this time of year). This came to the forefront, once again, last week when two tiny kittens were brought into the Shelter.
