Things have really been hopping at the Shelter lately! As many of you know, Have-AHeart Pet Shelter (HAH) will be holding weekly low-cost spay and neuter clinics in our surgical suite. These clinics are supported by the Bissell Pet Foundation’s “Fix the Future” initiative.

Greetings everyone! We hope all the dads out there had a good Father’s Day, including all your pet Dads! This week we don’t have a featured kitty as most of our cats and kittens are almost finished with their medicine treatment for upper respiratory illness. Once that is completed, we will be ready to feature them for adoption soon! In the meantime, Have-A-Heart would like to remind everyone that cats can get pregnant at as young as four months old (babies having babies!).

Monarch Butterflies

BENTON — Monarch butterflies are flitting their way around Arkansas and now is a good time to make these highly recognizable, but vulnerable, pollinators feel at home. “The first batch of monarch caterpillars has emerged here at the Saline County Extension Office which is one of my favorite times of year,” said Nichole Nichols, Saline County extension agent for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
