August 9, three area school districts — Cotter, Flippin and Yellville-Summit — came together for an important safety presentation at Yellville-Summit gymnasium. The presentation was led by Andy Anderson, a representative from the I Love U Guys Foundation, an organization dedicated to school safety and crisis response.

Jerrel Brandon Brewer, 47, of Alpena, passed away at his home on August 5, 2024. Jerrel was born December 28, 1976, in Harrison, to Jessie James Brewer and Linda Kay (Dillon) Brewer.
Michael Dean Russell, 66, of Flippin, passed away on August 2, 2024, at his home after an extension stay in the hospital. He was born on November 24, 1957, in Laramie, Wyoming, the son of William and Lydia (Paxton) Russell.

Mark Barry Hermann, 68, of Flippin passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in Flippin. He was born March 30, 1956, to Lawrence and Pauline (Johnson) Hermann.
