LITTLE ROCK — The Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas are hosting the 2023 Arkansas State Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 11 at the Arkansas 4-H Center in Little Rock. The public is invited to attend the event.
2022-23 Regional Tournament Basketball Results
Tournament HECTOR - Girls: Mansfield 60 – Ozark Mountain 48 Yellville-Summit 50 – Western Yell County 47 Hector 64 – Cotter 41 Boys: Ozark Mountain 57 – Mansfield 42 Yellville-Summit Lady Panthers and the Ozark Mountain Bears advance to play at the State Tournament in Rector, Arkansas, beginning Tuesday, February 28. Congratulations to the Cotter Lady Warriors and Ozark Mountain Lady Bears for competing in the Regional Tournament.

Bears win to go to State
The Ozark Mountain Bears traveled to Hector High School to face the Mansfield Tigers in the opening round of the 2A West Regional Basketball Tournament. Mansfield won the opening tip to start the game and led most of the first period.
Hogan’s Heroes
FLIPPIN - Recently, new mayor, Heith Hogan sat down to discuss the election, the city workers, and his view for the City of Flippin moving forward. Mayor Hogan started by expressing a genuine gratitude and appreciation for the voters of Flippin for entrusting the City of Flippin in his care.
Juvenile in possession of Firearm
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an incident involving a student being in possession of a firearm on the Yellville-Summit High School campus. Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander advised deputies responded to the campus after a firearm was recovered by the School Resource Officer assigned to Yellville-Summit campus.
