
Wanda Jayne Maddocks, 87, of Diamond City, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, at her home, with her family by her side on August 19, 2025.Wanda was born in San Angelo, Texas, on February 7, 1938, the daughter of Aubrey and Etta (Blaylock) Lacky.

Kathy Denise Patton, 62, of Pyatt, Arkansas passed away on August 15, 2025, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home with your family by her side. She was born in Bakersfield, California on January 11, 1963, the daughter of Buford and Shirley (Shaw) Hancock.

Seventy-five years ago, in November 1946, a brief article appeared in the Birmingham Star Gazette with an accompanying photo. Patients from the Birmingham VA Medical Center in Van Nuys, California beat the team of doctors they were playing in a game of wheelchair basketball by a score of 16-6.
