Stephen Curtis Allen, 63, of Green Forest, Arkansas, passed away on February 18, 2026. Stephen was born on April 22, 1962, in San Jose, California.
MOUNTAIN HOME – Arvest Bank hosted Community United Against Scams, a free inperson seminar on fraud and scams, on Thursday, February 5. The event was held in the Trout Room at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the Arkansas State University Mountain Home campus and was attended by 95 people.

Shirley Juanelle (Adams) McMeechan (October 28, 1946 – February 17, 2026) passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at Hospice of the Ozarks, surrounded by love. Shirley was born to Oscar Leonard Adams and Charlotte Jean (Jamison) Adams, who preceded her in death, along with her brother George Adams, her sister Flora McConkey, and her beloved son, James McMeechan.

FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas honored its most recent graduating class with two fall commencement ceremonies. Local students joined more than 1,800 graduates earning a degree and their names on Senior Walk, including: Cynthia Buckland-Brummund of Yellville, College of Education and Health Professions, GC - Graduate Certificate Lena Davenport of Yellville, Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences, BFA - Bachelor of Fine Arts “Commencement is a celebration of achievement and a launching point for what comes next,” said Chancellor Charles Robinson. “Our graduates earned this milestone through hard work, perseverance and a commitment to reaching their full potential, supported by faculty and staff who believed in them and loved ones who never stopped encouraging them.

The American Legion Post #61 of Yellville held its monthly meeting February 12, 2026. Meeting was called to order at 18:00 hours by Pamala Burns, Commander.

HARRISON – Dr. Tim Crain will visit Harrison to speak on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at North Arkansas College in the John Paul Hammerschmidt Lecture Series. The lecture is open to the public free of charge and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the John Paul Hammerschmidt Conference Room on the South Campus. Dr. Tim Crain is an American aerospace engineer, space technologist, and entrepreneur best known for co-founding Intuitive Machines, a leading commercial space exploration company based in Houston, Texas.
