The Panthers hosted the Quitman Bulldogs Friday, September 25, at 7 p.m. The Panthers fell to Quitman 276.

Ken Reeves Named 2025 Ozarks Ambassador for Service to NAC

– Ken Reeves, a longtime attorney, banking leader, and community advocate, will be recognized as the 2025 Ozarks Ambassador at the North Arkansas College Foundation Evening on the Plaza event for his public service benefiting Harrison and the region.

The cold front had stalled, and it was a brisk walk for the two boys on their way to school. Will got an early start, so the two could walk the bottom ground along Hog Creek, in hopes of jumpin’ a rabbit before school. Rabbit in the bean pot, and a nickle for the hide!

An Icon reopens

By Robert Lyons Wednesday, September 17, Taylor’s Freez-King reopened in Gassville. Many people will remember the restaurant with the meals named for area schools. The owners reopened with a fourth-generation member of the family taking over the reins with assistance from Beth Dewey, former owner.

Special meeting at Cotter School Board

COTTER – The Cotter School Board met Wednesday, September 17, at 5 p.m. inside the district offices for a Special Meeting to discuss a personnel item. Allen Franks, Jimmy Morgan, Cameron Ross, Andy Slater and Russel Diggins were in attendance as Mr. Franks called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m.

Allen Hurt to perform at BSTA

BULL SHOALS - Allen Hurt is set to perform Saturday, September 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. Allen Hurt has been entertaining music fans since an early age and has written over 1500 original songs, known for his unique tenor vocals that would become his trademark sound. Over the years, Allen’s music has been featured on radio and television stations throughout the U.S. and Europe.
