Paul Mathis of Valley Springs

Paul “Hillbilly” Edward Mathis, 65, of Valley Springs, passed away on May 1, 2024. He was born on June 11, 1958, in Denton, Texas, the son of Ervin and Francis (Beaver) Mathis.

Dan Ives of Yellville

Dan Ives passed away peacefully on the night of Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was 84 years old. Dan is survived by his twin brother Frank Ives and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Eben and Nora Ives of Yellville, Arkansas and siblings Alfred, Nelly, Annie, Harvey, Eben, Katie, John, and Caroline.

Y-S FBLA Students Qualify for Nationals

Thirteen Yellville-Summit High School FBLA members competed at the FBLA State Leadership Conference on April 29-30 in Little Rock. Lizzy Smith placed first in Public Speaking, which qualifies her to compete at the National Leadership Conference.

Sanders Announces Appointments

LITTLE ROCK — Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the following appointments: Marion County Quorum Court Russell Luder, Mountain Home, to serve as Justice of the Peace for District 1, for Marion County. The term will expires December 31, 2024.
