The North Central Arkansas Military Service Sisters will be holding its August luncheon on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 12 Noon. The location will be Little B’s, on the corner of Bomber Blvd.

DATE SET FOR 2024 MOOSE LODGE GERMANFEST

Mark your calendars now! The Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 has scheduled its popular 16th annual GermanFest for Saturday, October 19. The menu will once again include sauerbraten, bratwurst, hot German potato salad, red cabbage, sauerkraut, hot pretzel with apple strudel for dessert.

Lucian King of Flippin

Lucian Dale King, 75, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away with his family by his side on August 13, 2024, at his home. Dale was born on August 10, 1949, in Imperial, Nebraska, the son of Lucian and Bobby Clarice (Hamilton) King.

Kathleen Hoppis of Western Grove

Kathleen “Sue” Fincher Williams Hoppis 90, of Western Grove, Arkansas passed away on August 9, 2024, at her home. She was born on February 5, 1934, in Bodcaw, Arkansas, the daughter of Doyle and Elvern (Shipp) Fincher.

FHS holds update Monday

The Flippin School District will hold its Annual 2024 Community School Update on Monday, August 26, at 4:30 p.m. in the HS New Gymnasium.

EchoSports Begins 2D year

EchoSports will start the 2024- 25 sports season Friday, August 30 at 6:30 p.m. on the road with football action with Yellville-Summit traveling to play ICC at 7 p.m.

Buffalo National River Seeks Public Comments for Development of a Draft River Management Plan

Buffalo National River, BNR, is preparing to launch a public planning process for an updated river management plan and is seeking public input during a 30-day public comment period August 16 to September 15, 2024. The project, in part, is the result of feedback from the local community, landowners, and river users who have expressed a desire to plan for increasing and changing use of this beloved recreation corridor.
