
Doyle Dwight Weber, 68,of Gassville, passed away on September 11, 2024, at his home with his children by his side. Doyle was born on December 13, 1955, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Jacob and Charlotte (Pethoud) Weber.

Bobbie Jo Ayres Pelton, 48, of Omaha, passed away September 12, 2024, at Cox-Branson Hospital surrounded by her husband and children. Bobbie was born on September 15, 1975, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Bonnie Hite Ayres.

Zandra Goolsby, 66, passed away on September 9, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi. She was born on October 15, 1957, in Oxford, Mississippi to Velma Gibbons and William Lipscomb.
by Gregg L. Alexander, Sheriff Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that on September 13, 2024, at approximately 3:14 a.m., the Marion County Dispatch Center received a call of a female experiencing a medical emergency at a residence on Marion County (MC) Road 5026.
Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a citizen reporting that a post had been made on a social media platform directed towards “Marion County High School”, as well as threats made toward the Mountain Home Public Schools.

The Marion County Health Unit of the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) will offer a drive through community flu vaccination clinic at no charge at their office located at 707 highway 202 Yellville, on Thursday, September 26, from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. People should bring their insurance cards with them to the flu vaccine clinic. If they do not have insurance, or the insurance does not cover flu shots, the vaccine will still be available at no charge.

BATESVILLE - The Lyon College women’s volleyball team swept all competition in the 2024 Highlander Classic. It was an action-packed weekend of volleyball at the Highlander Classic inside Becknell Gymnasium.

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) announced Bailea Akins from Yellville-Summit High School has been selected to the member of NSHSS. The Society recognizes students who demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment.

Pat Rodgers has been a Master Gardener since 1994. She is a charter member of the group, one of the only three charter members left currently. The Master Gardeners have been active in managing the horticultural exhibits for the Marion County Fair since 1995 as well as the beautification of our community. Pat has won many awards in the County Fair, including high point, and many best of shows, including foe her many beautiful, crocheted Afghans, her African Violets, canned goods, peppers and onions. Pat continues to garden and grows many beautiful plants at her Marion County home. She is honored to have been selected as this year’s Marion County Fair Parade Grand Marshall and wishes everyone a fun fair season.
