Lesa Ann Stratmann, 72, of Gamaliel, Arkansas passed away on August 31, 2024, at her home with her husband and dog by her side. She was born on June 1, 1952, in Joliet, Illinois.

Sue Ott, age 87, of Yellville, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Flippin, Arkansas. Sue was born on February 7, 1937, in Yellville to Burley and Nellie (Morrow) Baker.

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander announced that his department has started the process of becoming an accredited law enforcement agency. Sheriff Alexander stated the department is participating in the Arkansas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP) to attain Tier II accreditation offered through the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police (AACP).

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that Zerahiah Harris, 24, of Oakland has been charged with Manslaughter and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor regarding the October 2023 shooting of Harris’ sister, 27-year-old Haisley Mack, also of Oakland.
