By Danni Hoefer, Chief of Staff Arkansas Public Service Commission Announces National Safe Digging Month the Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) announces that April has been designated as “National Safe Digging Month.” Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a proclamation on April 2, 2026, recognizing April as National Safe Digging Month in Arkansas.

MOUNTAIN HOME– Be Pro Be Proud Arkansas connected approximately 300 students with 28 employers at North Central Arkansas Draft Day, held Thursday at Arkansas State University–Mountain Home. The experiential hiring event brought together over 50 graduating seniors representing 13 high schools for pre-matched interviews with employers ready to hire.

Funeral arrangements for 79-year-old Beverly James, of Springdale, Arkansas, formerly of Yellville, are pending at Roller Burns Funeral Home. Ms. James passed away on April 5, 2026, in Springdale.
