Pets of the Week

Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter Greetings animal lovers! What beautiful weather we have had the past several days. It lifts the spirits of our volunteers AND the furbabies in our care here at Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter! This week we are featuring a dog by the name of Jimmy Creek! He is named that because he was found near the Jimmie’s Creek arm of Bull Shoals Lake.

Military Sisters receive donation

Wednesday, February 21, at 3:00 p.m., Military Service Sisters was presented with a donation check in front of the Mountain Home mural. The donation, in the amount of $500, is a contribution from the 2024 Woman Veteran Calendar to support the noble work and initiatives of the Military Service Sisters in Arkansas.

A Sad Season

All through the fall hunting season, those of us who love to hunt waterfowl prayed for rain. The one thing you need for great duck hunting is plenty of water, and we just didn’t have it. So, I have decided to go duck hunting in the spring, when the ducks start heading back to the north. I’m going to hunt them with my camera.

Moose Lodge hosts fish & shrimp dinner

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its first monthly fried fish and shrimp dinner of 2024 this coming Friday, March 1st from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage.

Letters to the Editors

The City Council is supposed to be the voice of the people. As long as, the citizens’ requests are reasonable and within the costs of the city budget, those reasonable requests must be adhered to.
