Harrison – Throughout the week of May 16, 2022, Buffalo National River staff partnered with municipal and state agencies to respond quickly and professionally to multiple emergency incidents that occurred within the park. Emergency services personnel reacted swiftly and decisively while at times responding to multiple incidents occurring at once.
Music filled the air at Bull Shoals Lake – White River State Park May 17 when the University of Arkansas Chamber Music Tour played on the patio of the Visitor Center overlooking the White River. The outdoor setting was a wonderful venue for the student groups to share their talents. Three outstanding student ensembles included Castalia Saxophone Quartet, Hawksbill Winds and Loblolly Brass Quintet. All musicians are students at UA Fayetteville. The groups have performed and competed at various events and competitions.
Bull Shoals – The parks in Bull Shoals are getting an upgrade thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Arvest Foundation. The gift was announced recently in Bull Shoals.
Harrison, Ark. – Buffalo National River’s second weekend of 50th anniversary celebratory events is coming soon. From June 9 - 12, 2022, the park is celebrating how the Buffalo River inspires creative artistic endeavors. All are invited to participate in the free activities listed below.
The Backwood Rebel Band with Charlie Trammell, Bass Player; Donna Adams, Vocalist; Doug Mears, Drummer; Hazel Harvey, Vocalist; Jerry Merriman, Fiddle player; Dobber Hampton, Guitar, and Vocalist; and round out this band is Cleveland Merriman playing the Guitar and doing vocals.
On Saturday night, May 21, The CALL in Marion County was one of the sponsors for Music on The Square in Yellville. Representative Jack Fortner, Marion County Judge John Massey and Gregg Alexander purchased a Bass Pro Cooler to be raffled off. All proceeds went to The CALL.

Stock up for your Memorial Day weekend with the Book, Bake and Yard Sale festival at Bull Shoals Library Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 26, 27 and 28. The BSL Annex will be bursting with books, baked goods and yard sale items from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. but will close at noon on Saturday. The library is easy to find at 1218 Central Blvd. next to VFW Post 1341 in Bull Shoals.
