PTSD Screening Day: Knowing is the first step

On June 27, 2022, the National Center for PTSD is launching National PTSD Screening Day, encouraging Veterans and others who experienced trauma to start the conversation about recovery. Learning whether you have symptoms that might be PTSD is an important step to getting the treatment you deserve.

When Veterans’ loved ones want to pay respects at national cemeteries, they rely on tools like online directions, cemetery maps, and a grave locator – or they contact cemeteries directly for assistance. With nearly 4 million gravesites in VA’s National Cemetery Administration’s (NCA) system, it’s crucial to have reliable data networks as the backbone supporting capabilities on which VA staff and Veteran families rely.

Suspect in Marion County double homicide waives extradition, charged in murders

Dale Mark Stikeleather, 64, is being held without bond and charged in connection with the murders of a Marion County couple earlier this month. Stikeleather had resided at a home near the murder scene, but later located in Sugarland, Texas and questioned on May 16th by Arkansas State Police Special Agents. He was subsequently charged in Marion County with theft of property and held in Texas.

Research Symposium Winners Announced

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith has announced the 15 best research presentations delivered at the 15th Annual Student Research Symposium. Research projects presented at the conference included both oral and poster presentations.

As a citizen of and believer in democracy, I applaud the efforts of the Ukrainian people. Their efforts are like what is happening in many other parts of the world. Believe it or not, one thing that overrides capitalism and political correctness in the United States is the right to have one’s voice heard. This is the foundation of which our democracy is built on.
