Cryptocurrency?

If you take financial advice from this column, in the future, you may not be able to afford to read this column. That said… let’s talk digital currencies. There are more than 18,000 cryptocurrencies on the market but what is it? Most agree it’s a digital currency that operates outside the traditional government/banking control, instead using public ledgers known as blockchains. But did you know that anyone can make a digital currency with a little coding? Yes, you and I can make our own digital currency. Late Show host Stephen Colbert’s crypto is called Ijustmadethatupeum. But is it a currency?

Project in Yellville City Park

This is the second article in a series highlighting local horticulture projects maintained by Marion County Master Gardeners. The Yellville City Sports Park, located directly off Highway 14, features a beautiful garden filled with a variety of annuals and perennials. Whether you are picnicking under the pavilion, cooling off at the Splash Pad, or walking along the paved perimeter trail, it’s hard to miss the horseshoe shaped garden that contains Butterfly Bushes, Lantana, Cala Lilies, Hostas, Clematis, Milkweed Roses and many other varieties of pollinator friendly plants.

Our band for Saturday May 21, is a new band to our stage. 7 South are based out of Newton County, and all are deputies for the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, and they are best friends.

Almeida Wins Career-First PBR Event at Challenger Series Stop in Fort Worth

Fort Worth – The highly anticipated PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Challenger Series residency at Cowtown Coliseum launched Sunday afternoon, as some of the world’s best bull riders and bulls showed up and showed out for the first of 11 consecutive events inside the iconic Fort Worth, Texas venue. Compliments of his Round 1-winning score, Ednélio Almeida (Cacoal, Brazil) won his career-first PBR event, victorious at the PBR Sunday at Cowtown.

Rutledge Continues to Combat Robocalls with FCC and 40 States

Little Rock – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge joins 40 other attorneys general acknowledging the Federal Communications Commission’s ongoing work to combat robocalls. In the letter attorneys general sent to the Commission, they recognized the FCC’s work encouraging states to join information-sharing agreements and collaboratively address complex robocalls issues.
