Baxter Health Awards Medical Students Kerr Scholarships
Mountain Home – The Kerr Scholarship, an annual scholarship named in honor of former long-time Mountain Home resident and physician Dr. Robert L. Kerr, has been awarded to seventeen medical and dental students in the Baxter Health service area.

State Economic Deputy Director and Community Leader Speak to BRTC Employees
Karen Liebnaber, VP of Institutional Advancement Pocahontas - During their fall convocation meetings to prepare for the fall semester, two special guest speakers spoke to BRTC employees: Clint O’Neal, the Deputy Director and Executive Vice President of Global Business for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, and Pat Johnson, President of the Board of Directors for the Eddie Mae Herron Museum/Center. O’Neal explained how economic development works to bring companies to Arkansas and BRTC’s effect on the local economy.
Team efforts recognized in Texarkana
Randy Zellers, Assistant Chief, Communications Texarkana - Arkansas Game and Fish Commissioners at today’s meeting celebrated the many partnerships and agencies who make conservation of the state’s fish, wildlife and their habitats possible. The meeting was the culmination of three days spent touring and working in southwest Arkansas to see the fantastic outdoors opportunities available here.
USDA Investing $197 Million in Partner-Driven, Locally led Conservation
Washington – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced it is awarding $197 million for 41 locally led conservation projects through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). Arkansas is the lead state for one project and a partner state in another.

by Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis Average gasoline prices in Arkansas have fallen 5.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.37/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,826 stations in Arkansas. Prices in Arkansas are 57.6 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 54.1 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
