Rutledge Announces Major Victory in Fight to End Opioid Epidemic
LITTLE ROCK— Arkansas Attorney General Rutledge announced that a federal district court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled in favor of Arkansas and forty-one other states, allowing the coalition to proceed with its antitrust lawsuit against Indivior, Inc. and Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for market manipulation of their product Suboxone, a prescription medication commonly used to treat opioid addiction.

One of my favorite lines in the movie, “American President” is spoken by the character President Andrew Shepard played by Michael Douglas. During his campaign he gives a passionate speech and in part says, “America isn’t easy. America is advanced citizenship. You’ve gotta want it bad, ‘cause it’s gonna put up a fight. It’s gonna say, “You want free speech? Let’s see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who’s standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours.” I think about that speech a lot these days.

ME welcomes Mason to Flippin Sept. 1
Peggy Mason has been hired by CherryRoad Media to work at the Mountaineer Echo (ME) as a Part-Time Reporter and Photographer. Mason has been working as a stringer or freelance reporter and photographer for the past 14 months and was the photographer for the award-winning front page photo that won the Mountaineer Echo the award for Best Front Page at the Arkansas Press Association awards ceremony in June.
