Ol’ Bill and Ol’ Jim, both said it was the best outdoor story they had ever read. I was proud of it, the account of a young English Setter that had run off with a red wolf and had a litter of half-wolf puppies. I had written it right there at the pool hall one evening after school, in between racking balls and collecting money for my dad at the age of twelveand- a-half. Mrs. Murrell, one of my 8th grade teachers, who actually disliked me less than most of ‘em had given her English class the assignment of writing a story. She was going to read the best one out loud, and I was hoping it would be mine.
Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter The dog featured this week is one of these examples. Opal’s owners moved away and left her behind. The kind neighbors took her in and began feeding her before realizing she was pregnant. They cared for her until she had her 12 puppies. The pups got accepted into the Shelter’s puppy partner program and once weaned, were sent to a metropolitan city out-of-state to be adopted. Then Opal was brought to the Shelter so we can find her the perfect home.

Hello All I wanted to post my Opinion and not a rant to you All. I openly admit that I am a transplant from Illinois over 5 years ago to this area! I came here for its Natural Beauty and some of the Best People I have ever met! I arrived just after a corrupt governing body had depleted and destroyed the city structure to the point of bankruptcy! The city held 23 bank accounts and money was totally unaccounted for! Leaving the city open to corruption and theft!
