Friday, October 14, Turkey Trot 2022 began with the local bands playing after opening remarks from Representative Jack Fortner of Yellville. The planners were lucky enough to get gorgeous weather with hi temperatures in the low 80’s and low temperatures in the upper 60’s and all the sunlight needed to have a spectacular time.

Saturday, October 15, the Arkansas Razorbacks traveled to play the Brigham Young University Cougars in a non-conference NCAA football game. The Hogs knew the trip was long and the Cougars offense would come to play.

Lion and Phoenix Productions, the traveling company of the Imperial Dinner Theatre, will be bringing a family friendly dinner show to Bull Shoals for a matinee on Friday, October 21. Hosted at The Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts, the melodrama “Countdown at the Fied Piper Saloon -or- The Legend of Johnny Rash” is a fun-filled musical melodrama full of zany characters.
As I began thinking about this topic, I remembered the trees of my childhood backyard on Alford Street. Fortunately, the folks who own the home now are friends of mine so when I asked if I could come take a look at “their” backyard, they were more than willing, so off I went.
