
The regular meeting of the Flippin City Council was held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Flippin District Court Room. Lacie Bettencourt, Jodi Howard, Margaret Ott was in attendance, along Heith Hogan, mayor. Tony Ford was absent.
Cindy Wood Young has announced her candidacy for Marion County Quorum Court Justice of the Peace, District 3. Born in Springfield, Missouri, Young jokes “As the old saying goes, ‘I got here as quick as I could,’” which, in her case, was at the age of five.

The ACT 56 Award is awarded to outstanding gifted programs in the state of Arkansas. The Cotter GT program was awarded the ACT 56 Award for schools under 1000 students. Lisa Coots is the GT coordinator/facilitator. The Cotter program has focused on a variety of programming options for the students that go above and beyond standards. Cotter Schools, parents and teachers are proud of the way the GT program excels from the classroom to the community.
is running to retain his seat as Justice of Peace for District 6. Rolin’s past work history includes working in management at Walt Disney World in Florida, founding and pastoring a church in Richmond, Virgina, and locally working as Deputy coroner, and Election Commissioner in Marion County.
Have-A-Heart Pet Shelter Cat of the Week This week we are featuring Suki! She is the mama to some recently featured kitties (Splash and Chaucer) and not-yet-featured kitties Buttermilk and Tracker. The Shelter took them in after the elderly human mom fell and had to go into assisted living.
