Steven H. Boelkens, 67, of Yellville, Arkansas, passed away April 23, 2025. He was born January 30, 1958, in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Wesley and Shiela Lawson Boelkens.

William “Tony” Alton Tovey, 49, of Lead Hill, Arkansas, passed away at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center on May 7, 2025. He was born in Batesville, Arkansas, on May 30, 1975.

J Ray Bristow, 80, passed away on March 22, 2025, in Flippin. Born on May 7, 1944, in Virden, Illinois, J lived a life marked by deep love for his family, dedication to his work, and an unwavering sense of integrity.

AUSTIN, TEXAS - Marissa Perry, of Yellville, graduated with a Bachelor Of Science In Astronomy from The University of Texas at Austin in spring 2025. Perry was one of nearly 9,500 students who received an undergraduate, master’s or doctoral degree.
Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander advises Marion County deputies to begin contacting citizens and returning stolen mail that was stolen from area mailboxes and subsequently recovered from a suspect’s vehicle. The investigation is ongoing, and a suspect is in custody in Baxter County pending the filling of formal charges in Marion County.

On Monday, May 12, 2025, Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Special Agents arrested Douglas E. Starkey, 66, of Yellville, on charges of felony Theft of Property and Abuse of Office.
