Safety Concerns in Flippin

FLIPPIN - The Flippin City Council met for their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 6 p.m. inside the Flippin courtroom to discuss proposed ordinance, hear reports from department head and address citizens issues. Jodi Breedlove, Margaret Ott, Tony Ford, Lacie Bettencourt and Heith Hogan were present for the city council.

Yellville Summit FBLA Students Represent Arkansas at National Conference in Hollywood California

Three Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members from Yellville-Summit High School recently returned from the FBLA National Leadership Conference, held June 28-July 3 in Anaheim, California. Recent graduates Elizabeth Smith and Fay Chism, along with upcoming senior Kyla Jackson, proudly represented Yellville-Summit as they competed among thousands of the nation’s top students.

Mary Angus of Yellville

The world is less jolly and sweet with the passing of Mary Ann (Cheek) Angus on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Mary Ann was born as the fifth child of seven to Marie (Rogers) and OJ Cheek on October 25, 1957. She grew up on the family farm and attended Flippin Public Schools where she graduated in 1976. Mary Ann passed away at her home.

Sherry Ritchey of Peel

Sherry Lee Ritchey, 76, of Peel, Arkansas, passed away at Cox Medical Center in Branson, on July 4, 2025. She was born on January 25, 1949, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Howard and Marion (McAdam) Chandler.
