“Pinkston Robotics Rockets to World Championships: A Journey of Innovation and Collaboration!”

In the heart of Mountain Home, a team of young innovators from Pinkston Middle School is gearing up for the opportunity of a lifetime. Pinkston Robotics, a group of six talented students under the guidance of their coach, Chrissy Davis, is set to compete in the World Championship in Houston, Texas. Their journey is not just about showcasing their skills in robotics, but also a testament to the power of community support, mentorship, and relentless determination. After clinching the Innovation Project Award at the regional qualifier in December 2023, Pinkston Robotics continued to shine, securing the Engineering Excellence Award at the Arkansas State First LEGO League Championship. Their outstanding performance earned them a spot not only at the Western Edge Open in Long Beach, California.

Military Service Sisters to meet

The North Central Arkansas Military Service Sisters will be holding its April luncheon on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 12 Noon. Location will be Jamie’s Restaurant, 1502 HWY 62 E., Mountain Home.

TLDAV meeting scheduled

The April Meeting of the Twin Lakes Disabled American Veterans Chapter 30, Mountain Home will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. The location of the meeting is the Meeting Room of the Mountain Home Police Department at 424 W.

NCAVC Meeting April 20

The NCAVC will be hosting its second meeting of the year on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. The meeting will be at the Alley-White American Legion Post 52 at 717 Market Street in Mountain Home in the main room.

Nearly 150 Arkansas Girls Attend Women’s Foundation of Ark Girls of Promise Conference

Amanda Hoelzeman, Public Relations Manager LITTLE ROCK – The Women’s Foundation of Arkansas (WFA), in partnership with Acxiom Corporation, hosted the Girls of Promise conference at the Arkansas 4-H Center in Little Rock on Friday, April 5. In its 24th year, the Girls of Promise Conference exposes girls to opportunities and mentors in science, technology, engineering, arts & math (STEAM) fields in Arkansas, with the goal of increasing the number of women in higher-level STEAM courses and careers and helping them achieve economic security in adulthood.

Monday, April 8, 2024, many schools, businesses, and government offices were closed to observe the Total Eclipse in the Heartland of the United States. The location of the viewer decided who could see the moon completely block the sun and for what length of time the sun would be blocked by the moon.
