Welcome Yellville Ozark Thunder Band

Ozark Thunder is a newly formed band based out of Yellville, Arkansas. The band is made up of a few folks that have a lot of music experience playing with different bands over the years, and one new fella that is brand new to the live music scene. They play a mixture of old outlaw style country music, a few select newer country songs, and some good old southern rock.

UAMS Graduates 9 Health Care Pros

LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) today conferred degrees and certificates to 1,134 students in its five colleges and graduate school. UAMS awarded 175 degrees or certificates to students in the College of Medicine, 172 in the College of Nursing, 583 in the College of Health Professions, 78 in the College of Pharmacy, 86 in the Fay W.

Fundraising Quilt

Hill ‘N Hollow Quilters Guild members, Jan Pomeranke, Frieda Mauthe, and Donna Perrin is shown selling raffle tickets for the Guild’s 2024 fundraising quilt at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday, May 18. This 92” X 92” quilt was inspired by the Hearts and Home pattern designed by Wendy Sheppard. The soft, muted colors of the Country Rose fabric collection, designed by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics will increase the tranquil atmosphere of any bedroom.

5 Drury Announces Dean’s List

- Earning a spot on the Drury University’s Dean’s List is a significant accomplishment. The recognition means a student earned a grade point average of 3.6 or greater (on a 4-point scale) while carrying a full-time course load of 12 or more semester hours at Drury, a top Midwestern university, according to US News & World Report.

Baxter Health to Host Public Retirement Reception for Dr. Bruce White

- Baxter Health is pleased to invite the public, employees, volunteers, and medical staff to join us in celebrating and honoring Dr. Bruce White in his retirement at a public reception on Thursday, June 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baxter Health in the Lagerborg Dining Room. After completing medical school, an Internal Medicine residency, and a fellowship in Oncology and Hematology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Dr. White joined Baxter Regional Medical Center (now Baxter Health), where he has spent nearly four decades serving patients in north central Arkansas.

Meet of Champions Results

The Yellville-Summit Lady Panthers sent their State Champions to the Meet of Champions at Lake Hamilton High School Wednesday, May 8. Keirstin “KJ” Moore and Riley Hopson led the Lady Panthers.

The Call receives Grant

We were granted $970 from the Twin Lakes Community Foundation for improvements to the visitation room at the Marion County CALL Support Center. We will be using the money for a rocking chair, a changing table, new toy storage, and other items.
