
Melissa Penn, Director of Marion County Office of Emergency Management, said Monday, May 27, the Red Cross emergency center at the Marion County Fairgrounds has now been closed. The fairgrounds location will be open as a rest center during the day from 8 a.m.
Leo Woodrow Walton, 101, of Harrison, Arkansas peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by family on May 20, 2024. He was born on July 27, 1922, in Walters, Oklahoma, the son of Floyd and Myrtle (Gibson) Walton.
Irene Wanda Weis of Gassville, Arkansas, passed away May 18, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 85. She was born September 8, 1938, in Kleszczewo, Poland, the daughter of Erich and Adelgunde Schoen Wenzel.
Sherry Loiselle of Bastrop, Texas formerly of Yellville Sherry Stormye Atkinson Loiselle went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 13, 2024, while visiting with family in Washington State. She was 84.
Cotter Public School Board of Education met for a special meeting May 23, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. to discuss the roof repair for the High School Gymnasium. Board members attended the meeting to only discuss the repair of the Gym roof, Allen Franks, Luke Walker, Russel Duggins, and Cameron Ross and Jimmy Morgan. School Administrators and other guests were also in attendance.

Keirstin “KJ” Moore finished her last track meet as a member of the Yellville-Summit (Y-S) Lady Panther Track and Field team. She was 5th overall and competed in the 100 Meter Hurdles, Long Jump, Discus, 200 Meter Dash, Shot Put and the 800 Meter Run.
