LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has appointed Heather Maxey of Mountain Home to a seven-year term on the Arkansas State University System Board of Trustees.

Shirley Juanelle (Adams) McMeechan (October 28, 1946 – February 17, 2026) passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at Hospice of the Ozarks, surrounded by love. Shirley was born to Oscar Leonard Adams and Charlotte Jean (Jamison) Adams, who preceded her in death, along with her brother George Adams, her sister Flora McConkey, and her beloved son, James McMeechan.

Peggy Daine (Leach) Reed passed away on February 6, 2026, at the Springs of Mount Vista in Harrison.

Heather Renee (Mustoe) Vinson, 54, of Lead Hill, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, on February 10, 2026. She was born on October 5, 1971, in East Chicago, Indiana, the daughter of John Mustoe and Debra Whitt.
