The Arkansas Legislative Council voted to fund the Educational Freedom Accounts (EFA) through the rest of the 2025-2026 school year. The accounts can be used to offset the expenses of home school materials or go toward tuition at an accredited private or parochial school in Arkansas. Currently, over 44,000 Arkansas students are participating in the program this school year.
The application of pesticides requires appropriate education and training – known as certification and/or recertification every few years - to assure safe and effective use.

Sonya Leah Edmonson, age 46, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away at Northwest Medical Center surrounded by her family on January 16, 2026. Sonya was born on October 12, 1979, in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Donald and Jeanie (McCauley) Tomlinson.
