Mr. Edward G. Lynch, 93, of Yellville, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas, on August 16, 1930, to the Guy Lynch and Pearl (Guthrie) Lynch.
Liesha Ann Clark 61, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Harrison, Arkansas. She was born on February 22, 1963, in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Dan Magers and Helen Burlsworth.

By Robert Lyons The City of Bull Shoals met amid turmoil from residents and city officials at a workshop Tuesday, June 18 and city council meeting on Thursday, June 27. For the workshop, council members Joey Grede, Dale Forbus, Wes Phelan, Dino Giannini, Daryl Lindman, Michael Castagna were in attendance, along with Carol Duss, mayor and Tina Bailey, recorder and treasurer. All attending the council meeting except Joey Grede. The city officials attempted to dive into the business at hand to help the city by paying bills, purchasing equipment needed for the city’s operation and applying appropriations for funds. During both meetings, the council and other officials listened to citizens’ comments and sometimes comments were intense.

JONESBORO – Students on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists for the spring 2024 semester at Arkansas State University have been announced. The lists recognize undergraduate students who achieved the highest grade-point averages while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours of study. The Chancellor’s List (designated as CL) includes students who earned a perfect GPA of 4.0. The Dean’s List (designated as DL) includes students with a GPA of 3.6 to 3.99.
CONWAY - The University of Central Arkansas congratulates nearly 1,100 students who were named as Presidential Scholars. Students must achieve a 4.0 GPA with a minimum course load of 12 credit hours to qualify as a Presidential Scholar.

NORTHFIELD, MINNESOTA - The following local students made the Spring 2024 Dean’s List at St. Olaf College. The Dean’s List is a scholarly award for students who demonstrate academic excellence, have earned a GPA of 3.75 or above, and completed at least three credits for that semester.
