Flippin Blocks Bergman

By Robert Lyons The Flippin Lady Bobcats hosted the Bergman Lady Panthers in a district volleyball contest Thursday, September 6, with matches beginning at approximately 4:30 p.m. There were four matches on the schedule starting with two junior high competitions and ending with a JV and Varsity matchup.

Lesa Stratmann of Gamliel

Lesa Ann Stratmann, 72, of Gamaliel, Arkansas passed away on August 31, 2024, with her loving husband and Precious, her little dachshund, by her side. She was born on June 1, 1952, in Joliet, Illinois. Lesa enjoyed watching television in her down time. She would take her dog for walks outside. Lesa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She has been married to Steven for 12 years. Lesa loved her dog. Two years ago, she lost her dog Deanna and was gifted a new wiener dog named Precious. She is survived by her husband, Steven; daughters Lacy Corbin and Crystal Sullivan. Lesa is proceeded in death by her mother and father. She will be missed by her friends and family. Betty Louise Turner, 74, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on September 1, 2024. She was born on June 28, 1950, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of William and Ella (Rigney) Turner.

Ricky Lee Wright, 47, of Lead Hill, passed away at Cox South Health Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. on September 4, 2024. He was born on September 26, 1976, in Gaffney, South Carolina, the son of Ricky D. and Sharon K. (McKinney) Wright.

ABHIN- Naloxbox install for MCSO

Representatives of the Arkansas Behavioral Health Integration Network visited the Yellville Sheriff’s Department located 221 Randolph Road. The team was there to install a Naloxbox.

Pat Rodgers 2024 Marion County Fair Parade Grand Marshall

Pat Rodgers has been a Master Gardener since 1994. She is a charter member of the group, one of the only three charter members left currently. The Master Gardeners have been active in managing the horticultural exhibits for the Marion County Fair since 1995 as well as the beautification of our community. Pat has won many awards in the County Fair, including high point, and many best of shows, including foe her many beautiful, crocheted Afghans, her African Violets, canned goods, peppers and onions. Pat continues to garden and grows many beautiful plants at her Marion County home. She is honored to have been selected as this year’s Marion County Fair Parade Grand Marshall and wishes everyone a fun fair season.
