14th Annual Car Craze at Hickey Park

Car Craze returned for the 14th annual event inside Hickey Park in Flippin. The attendance was reported to be one of the largest in the history of the event. 123 beautiful vehicles registered for the event. The Soap Box Derby and Valve Cover Races continued to have tremendous participation.

Doyle Weber of Gassville

Doyle Dwight Weber, 68,of Gassville, passed away on September 11, 2024, at his home with his children by his side. Doyle was born on December 13, 1955, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Jacob and Charlotte (Pethoud) Weber.

Bobbie Pelton of Omaha

Bobbie Jo Ayres Pelton, 48, of Omaha, passed away September 12, 2024, at Cox-Branson Hospital surrounded by her husband and children. Bobbie was born on September 15, 1975, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Bonnie Hite Ayres.

Zandra Goolsby of Southaven, Mississippi

Zandra Goolsby, 66, passed away on September 9, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi. She was born on October 15, 1957, in Oxford, Mississippi to Velma Gibbons and William Lipscomb.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

by Gregg L. Alexander, Sheriff Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that on September 13, 2024, at approximately 3:14 a.m., the Marion County Dispatch Center received a call of a female experiencing a medical emergency at a residence on Marion County (MC) Road 5026.

School Threats

Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a citizen reporting that a post had been made on a social media platform directed towards “Marion County High School”, as well as threats made toward the Mountain Home Public Schools.

Flippin Update

By Robert Lyons Heith Hogan, Mayor of the City of Flippin, released a memo updating projects and coming events sponsored by the City of Flippin. The Wastewater Project is continuing to move forward with the following progress: A total of 21,766 feet of 6-inch to 8-inch pipe burst completed and tested.
