Does this seem like a bad nightmare that keeps repeating itself? The AR state Legislature seems intent on doing just that! Approximately ten years ago a similar proposal approving CAFOs within the BNR watershed (geographically defined as Karst terrain) was on the table with ADEQ. Fortunately, the word got out (because the public was required to be notified), and after a lengthy and costly legal battle, the CAFO was shut down; primarily because of the extensive damage such an operation can, and did, cause the Buffalo River watershed.

Douglas Norman Wirth, 69, of Yellville, Arkansas, passed away on November 25, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 1, 1955, in Morristown, New Jersey, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Talbott) Wirth.

Teresa Louise Belk entered into rest on December 12, 2024. She was born June 19, 1960, to Homer and Judith (Zigler) Lowery.

It is with great sadness that the family of Susan Biggs announces her passing on December 11, 2024, at the age of 70. Susan was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on February 26, 1954, to Joe Prichard and Merle King. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
