Ryan Mallett drowns in Florida
Former Razorback, Michigan Wolverine, and New England Patriot Quarterback drowned Tuesday, June 27 in Florida. Reports say that the 35-year-old Mallett was taken from the beach to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Growing Up Flippin
Within the past two weeks, I have attended the visitation and memorial service for two of my first cousins. While these were sad occasions, they also got me thinking about a special part of my youth.

This came to the forefront, once again, last week when two tiny kittens were brought into the Shelter.
Over $700 Million Provided for Arkansas Water and Wastewater Projects
LITTLE ROCK — On June 22, 2023, the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Commission (ANRC) approved $702,318,258 in funding for 122 water and wastewater projects serving more than 1,253,000 Arkansans. This is the largest allocation of funds awarded for water and wastewater in the state of Arkansas to date.

Reginald Stephenson of Mountain Home
Reginald Glyn ‘Reggie’ Stephenson, 64, of Mountain Home, passed away on June 23, 2023, at home with his partner of many years Kimberly Osborn at his side. Reggie was born on October 27th, 1958, in Tacoma Washington to Harold and Betty Jean (Landon) Stephenson.

The Calico Rock Lions club will once again bring the community and surrounding area their annual Fourth of July Rayvon Cantrell Fireworks Extravaganza on Monday (July 3) evening, at dusk in Earl King Park off state highway 56 in Calico Rock.
