Arvest Million Meals Campaign Helps Raise More than $71,000

YELLVILLE — Arvest is pleased to announce the bank’s 13th annual Million Meal’s campaign helped raise more than $71,000 to benefit six local food partners in Marion, Boone and Baxter counties. With the understanding that $1 can provide the equivalent of up to five meals through local food pantries, the annual Million Meals initiative raises money through special events and donations collected across the bank’s four-state footprint with the goal of providing at least one million meals to feed those in need.

Marion County Rep Comm to meet

The Marion County Republican Committee will meet Thursday, July 13, 2023, upstairs in the Marion County Courthouse at 7:00 pm. The public and members are invited to attend.

Joe Yocham of Yellville

Joe Bill Yocham Sr., age 76, 0f Yellville, passed away Friday June 30, 2023, at his home. Joe was born in Peel November 17, 1946, to Everett and Laura (Windgate) Yocham.

Yellville Pee-Wee Football

Charlie Melton, Coach Yellville Pee-Wee Football and Cheer forms can be picked up starting July 6 at the Yellville City Hall. The deadline for signups is July 24. Anyone interested in helping coach either third-fourth grand team or fifth-sixth grade team will need to fill out the coach’s application and return it to City Hall. Little Rock– The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance is pleased to host USDAFNS Administrator Cindy Long on Thursday, July 13. Administrator Long›s visit to Arkansas aims to show support for the USDA-FNS Summer Food Service Program, which was enhanced by the passage of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (also referred to as the omnibus spending bill). During her visit, she will observe a newly authorized rural non-congregate summer meal site at Searcy School District and SNAP Employment & Training (SNAP E&T) programs at Our House in Little Rock.

Marion County Nursing Home Auxiliary 2023 Scholarship Recipients

The Marion County Nursing Home Auxiliary has been helping our community since 1958 when it was established as the Marion County Hospital Auxiliary. Although our main function is to support the residents of our Marion County nursing homes, we support many of our local charities, community clubs and organizations as well as our three county schools.

Gibson Signs Letter of Intent with MSU

Gibson received two scholarships from MSU one for an “out of state tuition waiver” and the “Academic Excellence Scholarship.” Gibson is excited about the potential opportunity to compete in any but plans to compete in mutli-events and field events.
