Crimes of the Heart at the Playhouse

Twin Lakes Playhouse announces its fourth production of the season, Crimes of the Heart. Opening Friday night, August 11, this tragicomedy relates the story of the three Magrath sisters, Meg, Babe and Lenny, who reunite at Granddaddy’s home in Mississippi after Babe shoots her abusive husband.

Arkansas Weekly Gas Price Update

Average gasoline prices in Arkansas have risen 8.5 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.48/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,826 stations in Arkansas. Prices in Arkansas are 40.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 9.7 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 14.9 cents in the last week and stands at $4.143 per gallon.

Rain

We finally received some much-needed rainfall for our pastures. Is it a lifesaver for our forages? Only time will tell the true answer to that question. If we continue to receive rain into the Fall and cooler weather, some of our forbs will return, however, many have been stressed too much to make a comeback.

Larry York Sr. of Western Grove

Larry Don York Sr., 75, of Western Grove, passed away on August 1, 2023, he was born on March 19, 1948, in Roswell, New Mexico, and was the son of Emmett Wallace and Pearl Elizabeth Hyman York. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two sons, Larry Don York Jr.

Howard Morrow Jr of Yellville

Howard Morrow Jr.” Junior”, age 89, of Yellville, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, in Mountain Home. Junior was born May 30, 1934, in Yellville to Walter Howard and Thelma Opal Camp Morrow. He lived on the farm where he was born.
