The Flippin School District will hold its Annual 2023 Community School Update on Monday, September 11th at 4:30 in the HS New Gymnasium. The public is encouraged to attend. This informational meeting will cover the goal of Title I, Part A of the ESEA Act, parent rights, parent engagement, curriculum and assessment, and the district’s annual academic performance report.

Fall is a great time to plant trees in the landscape. The soil is warm and air temperatures are generally cooler, creating a better environment for the tree and the gardener doing the planting. The cooler temperatures promote root growth which helps the tree establish a more robust root system before new growth begins the following spring.
This past weekend, a young lady reporting on deer season changes for Springfield television station KYTV, channel 3, made the statement that the deer killing “Chronic Wasting Disease” does not affect people. That is an incorrect statement, which is easily debunked. It does transfer from deer, elk, cattle or sheep and goats to humans and hundreds or perhaps thousands have died horrible death from what it is… an infestation of something called ‘prions’ in the brain.

The American Legion Post #61 of Yellville held its monthly meeting August 10, 2023. The meeting was called to order at 1800 hours by Dustin Beals.
