Lane announces Crawford to represent YV

Yellville Mayor Shawn Lane met with a full quorum of the city council; Vickie Fogerty, Clark Gustin, Lorna Goodwin, Layton Lee and Ken Rigmaiden, for its May meeting. Others in attendance were City Attorney Samuel Pasthing, Fire Chief Steven Evans and City Clerk Melissa Dorsey.

Y-S WINS 2022 DISTRICT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP

The Yellville-Summit (Y-S) Boys and Girls track teams competed at the District Track Meet at Eureka Springs High School and were crowned champions on Wednesday, April 27. Kambree Gibson (Y-S) earned the honors as the High-Point award for the Girls competition, while Lucas McVay (Y-S) captured the honor for the High-Point award for the Boys.

Country Music Star Naomi Judd dies at 76

Naomi Judd born as Diana Ellen Judd on January 11, 1946, to Pauline Ruth ‘Polly’ and Charles Glen Judd in Ashland, Kentucky. Naomi had one brother Brian, he passed away at age 17 in 1965 of Leukemia. Naomi Judd’s first child, Christina Ciminella (later Wynonna Judd), was born when Judd was 18. After the birth of her daughter Ashley, April 1968, who later became a film and stage actress, and the end of her marriage to Michael Ciminella, Judd brought up both daughters as a single parent, first attending nursing school at California’s College of Marin while living in nearby Lagunitas, California, and later beginning a successful singing career with daughter Wynonna.

Little Rock – The Arkansas Crime Victims Reparations Board is one of the smallest and least known state agencies, but it helps thousands of people every year. Last year the board awarded claims to 1,900 crime victims, 1,335 were victims of sexual assault and 565 were victim’s other crimes.
