Spanish Poetry Slams at UAFS

Fort Smith - Students from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith conquered stage fright to throw down in the form of poetry during the Department of World Languages’ Spanish Poetry Slam, November 10 in the UAFS Windgate Theater. More than 120 students attended the slam, many of whom participated themselves.

Christmas on the Square

Yellville music on the square is proud to present the 1st annual Christmas on the Square on December 3. Come join us from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a Christmas parade and music. We have apple cider to hand out as well. Parade starts at 3:00 p.m., with music to follow by Jukebox Winos. Bring your family and friends and grab your lawn chair and come join us for Christmas on the Square.

With the recent cold weather and freezing temperatures, and more to follow in the coming months, have you thought about ways for your livestock to get water with limited work from you. If you are like a lot of farmers in the area, we must have a second job to help make ends meet, we go out in the dark, put some hay out, do a quick count and off to work.

The American Legion Post #61 of Yellville will host Coffee and donuts first Saturday, December 3, at 9 a.m. The event is open for all veterans.

The Arkansas Capitol Lighting Ceremony & Fireworks

LITTLE ROCK - Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston welcomes you to enjoy the tradition of the Arkansas State Capitol Christmas Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 3 at 5:30 p.m. Rex Nelson, senior editor for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette and author of three books, will emcee the 84th anniversary of this event.

Meal Prices: All meals are served to our students at no charge. Menus are subject to change. Fruit Bowl is offered at breakfast and lunch each day with a choice of: Apple, Banana, Orange. BREAKFAST: 3 components offered each day; Grains, Fruit, Milk. LUNCH Students may decline 1 food item offered if 4 or more items are offered. Students must take at least 1/2 cup serving of fruit or vegetable each day at breakfast and lunch. Milk and juice are provided at breakfast. Milk is provided at lunch.
