US Army veteran Chuck Kinler was born in Vancouver, Washington in 1951, and the second of five children. At 17, Chuck left home for Southern California thinking it would be great, it was not.

Starting and Up-Potting Seeds

So, last week we talked about starting and up potting seeds. This week we will talk about getting those seedlings ready to go out in the garden. Once they start growing their true leaves and getting bigger you will want to have some air circulating and moving your starts like the wind moves plants outside. This will make your plants stems sturdier and much hardier so they will better adjust to the outside conditions.

Y-S Girls finish 3d at Sr. High Meet

The Yellville-Summit Y-S Panthers and Lady Panthers traveled to compete in the Jerry Roberts Memorial National Guard Relays at Vilonia High School Thursday, April 6. This track meet featured Y-S and many of the largest high schools in the state.

Welcome back to my family’s kitchen y’all. I am so glad to have you joining the table this week! We have been so busy with softball and t-ball games just about every other night, that dinners have been on the fly and later than normal. Not to worry though, I have some tricks up my sleeves for those busy work and school night dinners without going through the drive thru and spending all that money on take-out when you could be saving it for a nice vacation.

4 Y-S students Qualify for Nat. Leadership Conf.

Thirteen Yellville-Summit High School FBLA members competed at the FBLA State Leadership Conference on April 3-4 in Little Rock. Sophomore, Lizzy Smith placed third in Public Speaking which qualifies her to compete at the National Leadership Conference.
