Average gasoline prices in Arkansas have fallen 4.0 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.17/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 1,826 stations in Arkansas. Prices in Arkansas are 10.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 60.3 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly all-u-can-eat fried fish and shrimp dinner this coming Friday, April 7, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage.
To kick off the second year of “Growing Up Flippin,” I want to share another memory that my dad, Lyle Wood, wrote about in the 1998 edition of the Mountaineer. You may recall that he also used to share his memories of growing up in Flippin (of course, several decades before me).
We have had another busy week at the Marion County Sheriff’s Department. We are working on developing systems and procedures for inmate medical care. As our current medical provider for the inmates has resigned, we are seeking to find a new medical provider. This is no small task and a very expensive endeavor.
