Free Prevention Conference

A free Drug Prevention Conference has been scheduled for July 25, at the Signature Bank Community Room located at 303 North Main Street, Harrison. The objective is to instruct how to prevent substance use or misuse in our communities.

Y-S Summer Basketball Camp

The Yellville-Summit School District will host Basketball Camps May 30- June 1 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Students interested in participating in camps must fill out forms and turn into Coach Sims, Coach Melton, the Elementary Office or Middle School Office by Friday, May 19. You can register on the day of the camp, but not receive a basketball.

Bonnie Smith of Lakeview

Bonnie Augustus Smith of Lakeview passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 88. She was born March 14, 1935, in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Wilford and Arlene Cady Augustus.

Vernon Baumgardner of Hollister, Missouri

Vernon Eugene Baumgardner, 68, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away on May 7, 2023, at Cox hospital in Branson, Missouri, with Michelle Posey, Alyssa Owens, Glenna Baumgardner, Roy Baumgardner, Portia Baumgardner, Kevin Posey (sonin- law) at his side. His wife Glendora was also in the same hospital when he passed and could not be at his side. He was born on December 28, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lawrence and Glenna Romines Baumgardner.

Marion County Youth trying prepares donation of soda pop tabs

B B Bronson Bourg is a 5th grade Yellville-Summit student that wants to help any way he can. Bourg starting collecting soda pop tabs from can soda after learning these tabs can be donated to either Children’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House to aid children or their parents during a time of need.
