Youth Shooting Sports regionals begin April 29-30 at Jacksonville range

JACKSONVILLE – Everything is back to normal, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission organizers say, with the return of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program championships, scheduled for five of the next six weekends at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., (April 4, 2022) – The Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation (AGFF) today announced its 2022 Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame inductees and the recipient of its Legacy Award. Honorees will be officially recognized during the AGFF Outdoor Hall of Fame Banquet, slated for Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

On Monday, April 18 traveled to compete in the Bomber Relays at Mountain Home High School. The Yellville-Summit Senior Girls’ finished 1st and Senior Boys 2nd in 3A and below. Kambree Gibson won overall High Point.

Cotter High School, Flippin High School, Western Grove High School and Yellville-Summit High School traveled to Harrison to compete in the Senior Goblin Rosson Track Meet. This meet displayed schools from around the State of Arkansas and Branson, Missouri.

TULSA, Oklahoma – After making history in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2021, shattering the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) high-marked ride record, Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil) delivered yet another monster effort inside the BOK Center this weekend to inch closer to further etching his name in the organization’s record books. Leme was the only rider to go a perfect 3-for-3 on the weekend, culminating his efforts with a mammoth, walk-off 90-point ride to win the elite Unleash The Beast’s PBR Express Ranches Classic, presented by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and surge into the world’s Top 5 as he seeks his unprecedented third consecutive gold buckle at season’s end.

Mechanically Challenged may be the official name for their team, but the robotics students at Viola High School are working hard to ensure that their team’s name is a complete misnomer. The 8-person team competed at the Arkansas Regional First® Robotics Tournament at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas from March 31 – April 2, 2022.

On March 29, area schools competed in the Berryville Invitational Junior High School Track Meet at Berryville High School. The top 30 finishers from Marion County and related schools are reported. There were more finishers from the area competing most races.

On April 6, the Yellville-Summit Panthers and Lady Panthers traveled to Springdale to compete in the Tyson Invitational Track Meet. The Lady Panthers Senior girls won the meet and Kambree Gibson qualified for the the State Track meet in the 100-Meter Dash.
