Wycliffe Series

If you enjoy a good British mystery, try the Wycliffe series at Bull Shoals Library. These books by W.J. Burley feature Superintendent Charles Wycliff’s investigative skills to solve unusual murder mysteries that have lots of plot twists. Burley (1914-2002) was a British crime story writer best known for his Wycliffe series. BSL has 15 of these Wycliffe mysteries. The series was also the basis for a popular TV show. Kids Series Books

What parent does not remember Amelia Bedelia, The Berenstain Bears and Curious George? Bull Shoals Library has many of these children’s books. Originally written by Peggy Parish, Amelia Bedelia picture books are part of the I Can Read Book series to help young people learn to read.

FHS discusses Handbook and Policy changes

On Monday, June 27, at 7 p.m., the Flippin School Board met in the old cafeteria to discuss new hires, student transfers and changes to the handbook and district policies. Curt Bryant, Roger Leonard, Brent Mitchell and Brian Benedict were in attendance while Stacie Goldsmith was absent. Superintendent, Kelvin was in attendance along with Principals, Tracie Luttrell, Gregg Yarbrough and Dale Horn.

Amanda Cheatham, APRN, Joins WRMC

Fayetteville — Amanda Cheatham, APRN, recently joined the Washington Regional Hospitalists group, where she evaluates and treats hospitalized patients. Cheatham earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. She has more than 15 years’ experience in health care and most recently worked as a critical care advanced practice provider.

Flippin passes Mutual Aid ordinance

On Tuesday, June 21, the Flippin City Council met in the Courtroom at Flippin City Hall at 6 p.m. Joe Cantrall, Tony Ford, Heith Hogan, and Tim McEuen were present for the meeting. Jerald Marberry was absent from the meeting. Hogan led the council meeting by opening the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and a short prayer.
