Join the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) on Wednesday, May 17 for the 2023 PBR Team Series Draft beginning at 5:00 p.m. CDT at Cowboy Channel Studios in Fort Worth, Texas! Watch on as PBR continues to make sports history, as the league’s eight founding teams, including Fort Worth’s own Texas Rattlers, make their selection for the next great bull riding talent. Available for interviews will be team General Managers and Coaches, along with the drafted riders. Remote viewing options will be available for those media not located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The Arkansas law enforcement community is urging motorists to buckle up during the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) national Click It or Ticket high-visibility enforcement effort. The national seat belt campaign, which coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, runs from May 22 to June 4, 2023.

A Not-So-Bad Invader

A collared dove came up to visit Lightnin’ Ridge yesterday. My wooded ridgetop is of little interest to him as far as a nesting site. Mourning doves fly up here and feed on bird-feeder seed that is scattered on the ground.

Y-S Summer Basketball Camp

The Yellville-Summit School District will host Basketball Camps May 30- June 1 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Students interested in participating in camps must fill out forms and turn into Coach Sims, Coach Melton, the Elementary Office or Middle School Office by Friday, May 19. You can register on the day of the camp, but not receive a basketball.

Lead Hill Tigers Statebound

The Lead Hill Tigers Baseball team qualified to play in the 2023 1A State Tournament by defeating the Mulberry Yellowjackets 15-1 in the Regional Tournament in Harrison, Thursday, May 4. LH lost to Ozark Catholic in their second game at the Regional Tournament 22-0 and lost to County Line 22-12 to finish as the 4-seed from the 1A-E Regional Tournament.
