LITTLE ROCK — LeadAR, the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture’s leadership program, is accepting applications for its next class of leaders. For Arkansans who are passionate about the futures of their communities, LeadAR provides an indepth learning experience covering important economic and social issues impacting the state.

There is misinformation about deer rubs on trees that you see in the fall and winter. No, the story that those rubs you see are made by bucks whose velvet antlers are itching and they need to get rid of drying velvet, the bloodfilled covering of young, forming antlers, isn’t completely accurate.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR Bull Shoals is having a run-off for mayor, and we may be on track to get a new mayor. I want to remind my fellow citizens in Bull Shoals that our current mayor Dave Nixon, has led our city from the brink of bankruptcy and the prospect of losing our status as a city, to a point where we have become a prosperous entity and flush with cash.

I want to take a moment and commend the Editor of the Mountaineer Echo, Robert Lyons, for his steadfast leadership and outstanding journalism skills. I have noticed, that over the past 18 months or so the quality of the Mountaineer Echo has increased significantly. Mr. Lyons is tireless in the pursuit of the truth and reports based on where the facts and evidence of a story or issue lead him. His fair and balanced approach, along with his personable demeanor makes him easy to talk with regarding news matters.

LITTLE ROCK - The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) has launched its newest mobile-exclusive pass highlighting the capital city’s top holiday attractions, events and shopping, the Holidays In Little Rock Pass. This follows the May 2022 launch of their first pass, the Little Rock Attractions Pass and the September 2022 launch of the Little Rock Pedal Pass.
