NWAEDD Receives 2024 Impact Award

– The Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District (NWAEDD), based in Harrison, has received a 2024 Aliceann Wohlbruck Impact Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) for it 2023 Northwest Arkansas Wellness Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) project.

Veterans Day at the Plaza

The North Central Arkansas Veterans Council is again Sponsoring the Annual Veterans Day Commemoration at Veterans Plaza 2000 In Mountain Home. This year it will take place on Monday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. The host organization is United States Submarine Veterans Twin Lakes Base, Curtis Grant Commander.

Fire Restrictions at Buffalo National River

Harrison – Due to the continued dry conditions across the Ozarks, as of October 17, 2024, lighting or maintaining a campfire within the boundaries of Buffalo National River is prohibited except in the following locations: Within designated campgrounds with established campfire grates/rings; On gravel bars in areas that are naturally devoid of vegetation; Free standing charcoal or gas grills may be used in developed campgrounds and day use picnic areas. There are no restrictions on the use of propane or liquid fueled stoves and lanterns, and their use remains permitted in all areas of the park.
