Anderson to speak at Economic Update Luncheon
The economics of agriculture will be the topic of the 2025 Economic Update Luncheon presented by The Point Financial and the North Arkansas College Foundation. The luncheon will be held on Tuesday, January 21, in the John Paul Hammerschmidt Conference Center on Northark’s South Campus.

Winter Storm Blankets AR
On January 10 and 11, Arkansas saw Winter Storm Cora blow through the state and dump large amounts of wet snow covering the landscape with a fresh white blanket of snow that was a welcome sight for children from Southeast to Northwest Arkansas. Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that he was notified on December 20, 2024, that the Marion County Sheriff’s Department has been recognized as an accredited law enforcement agency after recently completing a review conducted by a staff member from the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police (AACP) Alexander stated the department recently earned Tier II (Basic Accreditation) status.

After he left the newspaper business he worked as communications manager for Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas, then as manager of Clay County Electric Cooperative before retiring to Mount Ida.
